Understanding resin-bound surfacing
The stone and resin are mixed together before being laid and trowelled over a prepared base. The aggregate is held in place, with small gaps between stones in a permeable system. Resin-bonded surfacing is a different construction, with aggregate broadcast over resin. Your quotation will identify the system being offered.
What happens below the surface matters
A new finish cannot correct an unstable foundation. The condition of the current driveway, its construction and the proposed levels determine whether an overlay is appropriate or a replacement base is needed. We explain the preparation before you commit, including any excavation and edging work.
Plan the route for rainwater
We look at where water arrives, where it collects and how it can drain. The ground and sub-base must work with the specified resin system, with particular attention around doors and garages. Drainage belongs in the initial design so that the finished appearance is supported by a suitable construction.
